What’s Up Wednesday

So, I have seen this post around for ages. I first saw it done by Jenny (she also credits Shay, who I think was the creator), and also by BrittHannah, and most recently Cheila and Lee. (Go check them out, I’ll wait) I have decided to do these on the first Wednesday of each month, as that seems like fun. I was planning on doing it on the last Wednesday of each month, but I got sidetracked.

Anyway, let’s get into this.

What we’re eating this week

A whole bunch of things.

What we’re reminiscing about

Wedding, Fiji. The usual.

What I’m loving

Besides blogging? Hahaha, well actually I’m really enjoying writing in my 3 year journal!

What we’ve been up to

Nothing too exciting. Work, home. Repeat.

What I’m dreading

Hearing back about our offer on the dream house. We’re not optimistic, but we wanted to at least throw our hat in the ring. We would have regretted not trying, at the least.

What I’m working on

Well, Rory and I have been talking about taking another trip somewhere. I wanted it to be later this year, but things needed shuffling around. So instead, we’re very much considering visiting Japan next year on our one year anniversary. We’ve both always wanted to go, I even have a friend there at the moment who I haven’t seen in years! So, we’re tentatively planning things, but who knows what’ll happen?

What I’m excited about

The coming weekend! I’m always looking forward to hanging out with my family.

What I’m watching/reading

Well last night on Youtube, I watched this in awe and learnt so much in those 20 minutes in the most entertaining way possible

Currently, Rory and I are watching Daredevil.

Currently, I’m reading Buffering.

What I’m listening to

This one song that keeps showing up in Rory’s Pandora. It’s called “Weak” by AJR, and oh my god is it catchy.

“But I’m WEAK, and what’s wroooooooooong with that”

On the flipside, I’ve also been loving Halsey’s latest song “Eyes Closed”

This has the polar opposite mood to Weak, but I love her voice, and even though the song is sad, it’s still fun to sing along.

“If I keep my eyes closed, he looks just like you. But he’ll never stay, they never do”

What I’m wearing

In general, I wear my jeans, boots and cardigans. My standard outfit for autumn/winter.

What I’m doing this weekend

This coming weekend is fairly packed. We have two birthdays to celebrate, Rory’s dad on the 10th, and my little brother on the 11th.

What I’m looking forward to next month

If we’re talking about July, I’m so excited for my new tattoo. If we’re talking about June, I’m excited because my sister and Tibor are coming down in the last weekend of June so the whole family will be back together for the first time since the wedding! If we’re talking about both months, the rest of my wedding photos will be arriving sometime in between then, and I’m very much looking forward to it 😀

What else is new

Ehh, nothing much. My throat is still fairly scratchy, but at least my voice is coming back.

Hello internet! My name is Angela. I write daily about my travels, life, thoughts, and ramblings. I live down in New Zealand with my lovely husband, Rory. Thanks for stopping by!
  1. Yay you did it!! Good luck with your dream house and Japan sounds really fun 😊

    1. Thanks Hannah! 🙂

  2. I love you three-year journal! 😊💜 This was fun to read. And the funny thing is, I am planning on doing an update-type post with ‘What’s Up’ in the title tomorrow. 😂 If that’s being used a lot, I might have to pick another phrase, hahaha!

    1. Haha, fair enough! What’s up is such a classic title though 😄

      1. Haha true 👌🏼

  3. A 3 year journal? That sounds so amazing!! Oh I want to start one right now! Great post Angela, xx

    1. Thanks Anni! It’s really fun 😀

  4. I thought you were tripping because it’s still Tuesday for us. Then I remembered you’re 12 h ahead

    1. XD I’m always ahead 😀

      1. You are. I bet you were born early haha

        1. I actually think I was XD I show up everywhere early as well 😛

          1. Oh, no. I’m late for life.

  5. I love Shay’s blog, Mix and Match Mama. I’ve been following her for a long time and I had seen this on her blog but I had no idea she was the creator. The first time I saw this on WordPress was on Hannah’s blog. I love it, actually. Oh, I wish I could just plan a big trip and go. I don’t even know where I would go, honestly, but it would be awesome to plan it 🙂

    1. I have only recently found her blog, but Jenny always credits her, so I figured I should too 😀
I do love planning trips, it’s always so fun seeing what’s out there. Japan has always been on our bucket list 😀

      1. To be honest, it’s not really a place I’ve been so interested in visiting. If I had the money (and it is really expensive) I would start with the United States.

        1. Fair enough, we all have different bucket lists 🙂
I’ve never been too keen on the US myself. Hopefully we can both visit where we want to go someday 😀

          1. Maybe it comes from your geekyness a little? haha do you watch/play any Japanese films/series/games? My thing about the U.S must have come from movies lol I’ve seen it so much on TV so I want to experience it

          2. Could be, could be. Rory and I are both geeks. I mostly want to see all the gardens (cherry blossom trees!), temples, all the cat and owl cafes. The more I look into it, the more crazier things I see that I want to explore. I get what you mean about the US, there’s definitely some appeal to go there, but it’s also reeeeally far away. I can’t handle another 15 hour flight.

          3. I’ve never been on a plane but I think I might get super bored and impatient.

          4. Short rides are fun, cause I get to read. But then once it starts going over 3 or 4 hours, it gets boring really fast. Especially if the flight doesn’t have one of those little screens where you can watch stuff

          5. Well, you could always sleep if you can lol

  6. I still need to watch the history of the world video! When I was visiting family in Mexico last year we kept saying we wanted to go to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics!

    1. It’s so fascinating! I loved his history of Japan video!! I don’t know if I could visit a country when it’s Olympics, as it would be crazy crowded. But it would be really cool to visit Tokyo!

  7. I’m keeping fingers crossed for the house offer! I know how frustrating it can be xoxo

    1. Thank you so much! That means a lot 🙂

  8. Ooohh Japan would be my absolute dream holiday *v*
Keeping my fingers crossed for a positive response regarding your dream house 🙂

    1. Japan is so amazing! I’m hoping this trip becomes a reality 😀
Thank you so much Nina 😀

  9. Keeping my fingers crossed for your dream house. May it land in your lap and Japan too! 🙂 xx

    1. Eeek, it would be so good if both of those things could happen 😀
      Thanks Arundhati 🙂

      1. It will my love! Keep the faith xx

  10. Weak is actually one of my favorite songs and I’m so glad you listened to it! I hope it makes it big soon!

    1. It’s so good!!

  11. Your wedding dress looks so beautiful (and the wedding did too)!

    1. Thank you so much! 🙂

  12. That would be cool if you got to come to Japan. It’s nice here. I hope you can make it happen next year.

    1. Thank you so much! We’ve started looking more into what we could do there, it’s still early days but we’re hoping we can go through with it 😀

  13. YAY!!! I am so happy that you’re not apart of Whats Up Wednesday! It’s fun isnt it?!?! oh my pizza though!!! AH I need a nice of that….heck I need the whole pizza! You’re journal is wayyyy too cute!! Where is it from?

    xo, JJ

    1. Pizza is one of our standard takeaways. They’re so good 😄😄
I got the journal from Typo, which is a really cute stationary store. They’re based in Aussie, but they have quite a few stores in NZ too ☺
