Monthly Journal Update #1

Well hey there! This week’s TBT post is a little different again.

You guys may know that I have a three year journal I’m filling in. It’s quite fun! Each day has a little prompt and three sections. The gist is, you fill up one every year, so at the end you have a collection of thoughts compiled over a few years! I had seen this in Typo (my favourite stationary store), and after being inspired byΒ Ella‘s own five year journal, I knew I had to get one of my own.

It’s called Thoughts and Reflections. So I thought I’d share with you guys what I’ve put in every other day for the last month, as I started in on May 21. I would do all of them, but I want to keep some to myself πŸ˜‰

Also this would get reeally long.

May 21 – What’s your happiest memory?

Saying my vows and marrying Rory. This whole day was so amazing and filled with so much love.

May 23 – What is your most prized possession?

My wedding dress, it’s the most beautiful thing I own and I loved wearing it. Also, my engagement and wedding rings.

May 25 – If you could live anywhere in this world, where would it be?

I would love to travel and see more of the world. But I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else but in New Zealand, in Wellington.

May 27 – What was the last book you read?

Me Before You. I finished it last week, and I’m gonna get to the sequel soon.

May 29 – Make a wish!

I wish we had our own home, and more savings. I also wish bugs would stop biting me.

May 31 – What are you most looking forward to?

Soon, getting the rest of our wedding photos. Future, buying and owning a house.

June 2 – What do you love most about the weekend?

At the moment, it’s being more able to read blogs more rather than rushing before work. More me time, generally.

June 4 – Sometimes when I’m alone, I like to…

Dance like a lunatic

June 6 – What makes you unique?

My poor eyesight, my bicultural ethnicity, my clumsiness, that random blue dot on the corner of my head, my thoughts, there’s probably more

June 8 – What was the last film you saw?

Wonder Woman!

Rory is a total babe

June 12 – What was the last compliment you were given?

During the last staff meeting, our manager asked me to take the minutes. I agreed. She then elaborated saying she wanted the meeting minutes to be good and detailed which is why she asked me. My note taking skills come in handy!!

June 14 – What are you most proud of this week?

I literally just hit 700 followers, so that? Or the walk I did up to Mt Vic on Sunday as I haven’t done it in ages. Ooh, and getting my full teacher registration finally.

June 16 – What makes you happy?

Many things. Food, books, walks, silly videos, family, blog, taking photos…

June 18 – What’s your guilty pleasure?

Chips and dip. I love dip. Ooh or crackers and cheese. I could eat those non stop for days.

June 20 –Β What did you wear today?

My new black oversized cardi, my stripy long sleeve top, jeggings, and boots!

I’ll leave it there. I’m really enjoying writing in my journal, it’s a nice way to end the day. It’s quite exciting to think of what my future self might write in these prompts! Next month, I’ll do another update and share more days!Β

Angela.

  1. I don’t have a yearly journal. I am too scatty to stick to one but it is a wonderful idea πŸ™‚ Loved the fill in the blanks portion πŸ˜€

    1. Neither do I. I always try to write in a daily diary or journal but it never works. This gives me prompts so it’s nice to write in at the ens of the day πŸ™‚

      1. Indeed. I maintaining a Moleskine which I had to buy because I realised all my journals were in the shipment! It was not a nice moment to have nothing to jot down my thoughts in. But I suspect that I shall stop doing so soon, knowing myself πŸ˜‰

  2. I love writing in journals. I tend to write in journals on vacations

    1. It is a nice idea to have something physical to write in and look back on

  3. I just have to tell you- you made the most beautiful bride! It is so beautiful to hear about how much you cherish that day.

    1. Thank you so much! πŸ™‚

  4. Ooooo! I love this idea! I started a paper journal and a digital one but didn’t stick to either. Maybe I should try again! (Paper because I have too many photos!)

    1. I haven’t stuck with a journal either, sometimes I just don’t know what to say! But this one is great as it gives me a little prompt each day πŸ˜€
All my photos are digital, which is perfect when it comes to putting them on my blog πŸ˜€

      1. Same but not perfect when my phone says I have no space!!! Maybe I should try one with a prompt!

  5. I have a yearly journal too! I started it this year and it has been so much fun so far! xx

    1. Awesome!! They’re so much fun to write in πŸ˜€

  6. Ahhh this is such a lovely idea!! I tend to only write a journal when we go away on holiday now or in the school holidays 😊 btw you and Rory are absoulutely adorable together πŸ˜ŠπŸ’ž xx

    1. I always try to write in a journal, and then I just never keep going with it. This journal comes with prompts so I always have an idea of what to write πŸ˜€

      1. Haha it is pretty hard sometimes remember to write in it and to know what you want to write!! Ahhh that’s good 😊 xx

  7. Hi Angela! How fun to review your month. πŸ™‚ I have recently been reading through my old journals, and it is so fun to reflect. I am thinking of posting some old entries here and there as well.

    1. Ooh! That would be fun to read!
It is nice looking back through your old entries and seeing what was on your mind then πŸ™‚

      1. Sadly I am generally adverse to looking back at my journals. Gosh, I used to fill them with such nonsense and drama with friends. But travel journals are pretty safe territory πŸ˜‰

  8. Great post πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you πŸ™‚

      1. Your wedding pictures are beautiful by the way, forgot to say, beautiful dress πŸ™‚

  9. Beautiful post and beautiful pictures!!!

    1. Thank you so much πŸ˜ƒ
I always love adding photos to my posts when I can

  10. LOL i love the sometimes when I’m alone….. I’m SO 100% guilty of that too….And singing at the top of my lungs as if I was Beyonce πŸ˜‰ I can’t wait to be a future homeowner too….ugh I can’t even think about what the process is going to be like but after reading yours and hearing other peoples struggles, it’s definitely not getting me excited hahah but it is what it is and it will all be worth it in the end!!!

    xo, JJ

    1. I think everyone does, but we get more into it when no one is around πŸ˜†
House hunting was so much fun to start with, but it does get you down once you’ve made a few offers and nothing comes through. Just gotta keep moving forward. It will definitely be worth it in the end πŸ˜€

  11. Oh my, you’re deeply in love with Rory. It makes me so happy to know such a sweet couple. Me Before You, did you cry your eyes out? Have you watched the movie?

    1. Aww thank you Cheila πŸ™‚
We have always been lovey dovey, I worry we annoy people with it, then I stop caring πŸ˜‚
I loved the book, I was alright with the movie. I did shed a few tears.
