Hair & Skin Care Collection

First of all, this is officially my 300th post. 300 guys, and I’ve only been blogging for 5 months! Yikes, I write a lot. Anyway.

Yesterday I posted about my makeup collection, as I was going through them, I decided to also go through my tiny collection of skin care and hair care products!

Come have a look!

Hair Care

RedKen High Rise Volume Shampoo and Conditioner

Before this shampoo I used to use Head & Shoulders, everyday. Not the best technique. Anyway, when I met up with my makeup and hair artist late January, she gave me some tips on how to better look after my hair. One was to stop using Head and Shoulders everyday. She encouraged me to find a volume shampoo as my hair was super limp and oily. I found this one, and I’ve been really happy with it. I’m keen to explore other shampoos out there after they run out though.

Dove Nutritive Therapy Nourishing Oil Care Shampoo

My hair still somewhat has frizzy issues, so I thought I’d try this one next. Plus my volume shampoo is running out. I’m keen to see how this one goes.

Schwarzkopf Extra Care Styling – Heidi’s Heat Styles Heat Protection Spray

That’s a mouthful right? Anyway, I tend to use my hairdryer and hair straightener a lot, so I thought it was time to invest in some kind of heat protection spray.

Skin Care

Vaseline Intensive Deep Care Restore Lotion

This moisturizer often goes everywhere with me. I’ve used it on and off the past couple of years. It’s quite good in winter, especially for dry skin.

Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion for Dry Skin

Another moisturizer for dry skin. This one is lighter than the other one. I use it a lot on my arms and body. It’s also technically Rory’s but I’ve been slowly using it more and more. It feels really nice.

Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist, Jurlique Activating Water Essence

I got these from Marzia’s  Holiday Favourites. The mist feels and smells really nice, it makes my skin feel fresh. Which after a long hot shower is probably really good as my face feels dry. The water essence thing helps with hydration, I’ve been using these two together every morning (and most evenings) for almost a year now. I even bought more of the products when they ran out earlier this year.

Derma E Vitamin C Concentrated Serum

I got it from Marzia’s Summer Favourites Box. It smells so good! Citrusy, and fresh. It’s meant to be used in the morning and evening, it’s a teeny bottle though so I’m trying to save it up.

Crabtree & Evelyn Caribbean Wild Flowers Hand Therapy

I got it from Marzia’s Summer Favourites box too. This hand cream makes my hand smell and feel so good! But I’m trying to save it up for summer, as I’m currently using up my other moisturizers.

So that’s it for this mini collection! Do you guys have any of these? Do you have any recommendations in terms of skin/hair care? I’d love to know!

Hello internet! My name is Angela. I write daily about my travels, life, thoughts, and ramblings. I live down in New Zealand with my lovely husband, Rory. Thanks for stopping by!
  1. The Vaseline moisturisers are amazing! I use the Aloe Vera one 🙂

    1. I’ve used them for years now. I like the Aloe Vera one too! I tend to go back and forth between them ?

  2. I posted one comment and it disappeared as soon as I hit “post comment” so if it shows up twice Angela, please delete one of them. I don’t use any of these, although I have used aveeno 🙂 I use Cetaphil sensitive skin to wash my face, witch hazel as my toner, and jojoba oil as my moisturizer. I am so allergic to things that when I find something that doesn’t burn my face or break it out, I’ll use it forever 🙂

    1. I’ll keep an eye out for the rogue comment! I’ve used Cetaphil before but i like to rotate my moisturisers. My skin is luckily well behaved with most as long as its not too rich. I understand sticking to the same ones though if you know it works ?

      1. Yeah, I am one of those freaks of nature. My body rejects most all medicines I have ever taken. My skin breaks out with the slightest thing that’s put on it. Funny, I have allergic reactions to most man made stuff, but have no allergies to foods, plants etc. I do understand the rotating too. It seems that my skin gets use to something after a period of time, and it doesn’t work any more. Same with shampoo haha

  3. I love dove shampoos so much! I hope you like this one! ?

    1. I’ve never used them before but I’ve heard good things about it! ?

  4. Just 5 months and 300 posts! Girl, you are a rockstar. You do take good care of your hair. I have started washing my hair everyday and using this new range called Syntonics which suits me. It is great to find your comfort products, isn’t it? Like comfort food, you know what shall sail your boat…xx

    1. Rockstar is one word for it. I was thinking more over enthusiastic ?
I’ve begun taking better care of my hair this year. It used to be so brittle. It’s gotten better since I’ve found better products ?

      1. Well to get in more than one post everyday is rockstar-ish. A lot of work. xx

  5. I can’t believe you’ve posted 300 posts in 5 months! That’s serious dedication! Well done!!! I need some of your motivation to start blogging again ?

    1. Haha, it’s crazy. I just love writing and I can’t seem to stop ?

  6. The RedKen hair products sound good! The Vaseline and Aveeno lotions do too 🙂

    1. They are! The person in the store recommended them to me. Both those moisturisers are good standard ones too 😀

  7. All of these products are actually really good
    xx Ele |

    1. Thanks Ele 😀

  8. Does Rory know you’re using up his lotion? Hahaha I also have oily and limp hair. I might have to find a volumizing shampoo then!

    1. He does. I tell him as i start using it ?
Yeah my hair always got oily and limp. It’s why volume shampoo got recommended to me. Its definitely helped!
