Doodle Journal Update

Hey all! I have a short little post for you today. The longest time ago, I shared my little doodle journal I had started. I don’t want to fully commit to a bullet journal, so this is a compromise of sorts. Well, I’ve slowly been adding more pages, and even started trying some ‘bu-jo’ esque ideas.

Here’s what I’ve got.

I did one more doodle page, this time for my love of baking!

One of the bu-jo ideas I’ve borrowed is for books I’ve read. I’ve made an aim for 30, and I saw this idea on Pinterest for a bookshelf that looked like fun. I’m up to my fifth book at the moment. As I finish books, I fill in a book. I’ve even decided to colour them in depending on what genre they fit into. Hopefully it’ll be super colourful by the end!

Another idea is for movies I’ve seen. It’s very minimalistic, but I love it!

Finally, I’ve done another baking one. As I try new ideas, I do a little doodle of them. I don’t know if I’ll fill the whole page, but I want to try!

That’s all the extra pages I’ve done for now. I don’t spend as much time on this as I do other hobbies, but it does give me lots of satisfaction filling in! Do you guys have any ideas of other pages I could do?

Angela.

    1. Thanks Azra! The movie page jumped out at me when i first saw it. It’s very minimalistic, but I love it!!

  4. I love this idea! I also find commiting to a Bujo is hard work and the amount of times i’ve tried it and jacked it. The one for books and movies and maybe even tv shows for me is a super cool idea!! Thanks my love xx

    1. I’m glad you like it Hazel! I find committing to a bullet journal to be too hard. I’m sure I’d keep scrapping it, so this is a fun compromise ?

      1. Definatly agree with that! I have also recently found washi tape…….. what I havent covered this week isnt worth covering 🙂
        Hope your doing well!! xxx

  5. Life is what you bake it, lol that is so cute. I love this idea so much especially since I don’t think I could fully commit to a bullet journal. I think the finished look for the books will be really nice, looking forward to seeing that!✨

    1. Haha, it seemed like a perfect quote! This journal is perfect when you don’t want to fully commit to a bullet journal. I agree about the bookshelf! It’ll look so good by the end of the year ?

  6. Your doodles are so good, they are a piece of art! Love your books and movies idea too!
    XOXO

    1. Thank you so much! I had a lot of fun doing them! 🙂

  7. This is adorable! Thank you for the share! Blessings! xoxo

    1. I’m glad you liked it! ?

  8. I wanna be arty like you! I’ve got a book and movie list in my Bullet Journal and I wish they looked as pretty as yours 🙂

    1. Haha, I’m just pretty good at copying. Pinterest is chock full of so much ideas and inspiration! I get all my ideas from there ?

  9. Aw those doodles are adorable, especially the last one! I already gave up the journal I’ve started and just bought a planner with different sections 😀

    1. Thank you! I had so much fun making these pages. Haha, oh no! That’s my fear with starting a bullet journal. It feels like too much pressure. I like my little doodle journal better as its more random, which suits me better ?

  10. Absolutely adorable, Angela! This is a super cute idea and I love your doodles (:

    1. Thank you so much Shannon! I’m really proud of how it’s come out ?

  11. SO stinking cute!! Wish I was even half as good as you at doodling! LOL

    1. Aww thank you!! I’m really happy with how they’ve come out haha ?

  12. I have like 3 million doodle notebooks but I lose everything because im TERRIBLE at organization heh 😛

    1. I used to have more, but I’m trying to focus on filling all my spare notebooks ?

  13. I just recently did my own bookcase style bullet journal page, already making me want to read stuff faster – I’m so easily motivated by ticking boxes or crossing things off lists etc.. 😉

    1. They’re so much fun! Haha, I feel the same! I’m not normally into watching movies, but I feel the need to fill in that page ?

  14. Omg I’m thinking of having a doodle journal too to practice designs and all kinds of patterns and to sort of give myself some time before I start my own bullet journal lol.

    1. It’s really handy! I love playing in my doodle journal and if I mess up it’s fine, cause it’s not a proper bullet journal haha!

      1. I’ve been doodling on my schedule board, almost finished LOL but yeah that’s true! you can always erase or keep practicing and sharpen your drawing skills 🙂

  15. Haha I love the idea of a bullet journal compromise! And the way you’ve tracked your books is so fab – I will probably give it a go myself 🙂

    1. I really do love bullet journals but i dont feel ready to fully commit to it yet. So this is what I’ve got haha!
The bookshelf idea is so cool! I saw it on Pinterest and thought it was a perfect way to record my reading challenge ?
      Definitely give it a go!

  16. I LOVE your baking pages!! Mind if I steal your idea? I mainly use my journal for lists and tracking Disney films and books I’ve read. I don’t use it as a proper diary like some people do because I think it would
Take me too long to set up those pages, but also at the moment I don’t have much need for them.

    1. Go for it! They were so much fun to make ?
I like the idea of tracking books and films, but I agree I wouldn’t uae it as a diary or a planner. It would take way too much time to set up and I’d probably lose interest

      1. I’m using it at the moment though too to write kind of a little diary of my holiday 🙂

  17. I love ‘life is what you bake it’! It’s so pretty.

    1. Thank you! I’m really happy with how it came together ?

      1. Most welcome. 🙂

  18. Love these! Girl you are so talented! <3

    1. Ah thank you so much Kate! They’re so much fun to do 🙂

      1. You are very welcome sweets! And so good at it! <3

  19. Aww I love your doodle journal, Angela! <3 I have a bookshelf page like that in my bullet journal, it's a great way to keep track of books.

Also, I love your new profile picture! and in your sidebar, I saw that you have 2,499 followers at the moment, haha, so happy early 2.5k! 😀 <3 <3 That is amazing!

    1. Thanks Maggie! The bookshelf page is definitely my favourite part at the moment 😀
Ah yay! I took that photo on my birthday and really liked it, so I decided to make it my new profile pic haha! I can’t believe my blog almost has 2500!! It’s not even a year yet haha, I’ve been wanting to do a special post for it, but I don’t have any ideas ?

  20. Such a great idea! 🙂

    1. Thank you!

  21. I love your doodle journal. I only just (this month) started dabbling in a bullet journal. I love how it gives me a place to play with illustrating and design in a low pressure place. 🙂 Enjoy!
