Bump Update (15 Weeks In)

Back to another baby update!

How I’m Doing

Honestly, I’m alright. The extreme tiredness from the first trimester has pretty much gone, so I’ve got more energy. On the other side, I get random sore muscles. My legs kept being achy when I woke up, until I started using a pillow to support them. It’s also getting more difficult to find a comfortable position to sleep in at night. I also feel more pregnant in general now, if that makes sense. There’s more weight I’m carrying around (obviously, as baby grows), and I’m trying to get used to it. It’s crazy to think that in a few months, I may be waddling around as baby gets even bigger.

How Baby Is

Baby is now the size of an avocado. I held up an avocado to my stomach and it’s funny to think that baby is getting so much bigger each week. Apparently, he/she can now hear me (the bones in the inner ear are forming), so I’m trying to get in the habit to talk to baby. It feels kind of silly at first, but it’s also quite nice to take time out at the end of the day to just chat and think about baby listening. Baby is also now moving around a loooot. I should be able to feel the movements soon which is quite exciting!

week 15

I keep meaning to take photos of the bump as it grows, but I’ve been letting it slip. I’m hoping to keep it up for these update posts though!

  1. So exciting to hear! I hope you’ll continue taking care of yourself and the baby as time goes on! πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you for reading! I definitely plan to keep looking after myself and baby πŸ™‚

  2. This is exciting Angela. I’m so happy for you πŸ™‚

    1. It really is! Thanks Margaret πŸ™‚

  3. I had this from 14 weeks with both boys. Ypu sleeping on your side now? Usually thays the besy position with a pillow in between you legs. It helps to keep them parted and less pressure so comfy to sleep. And a pregnancy pillow will help. The best ones ate the full length ones that wrap around you haha.

    1. I’m sleeping on my side now mostly too. I’ve started putting a pillow between my legs as well, as I was waking up with sore legs and I couldn’t figure out why. The pillow has definitely been helping. I’ve been looking for a full size pregnancy pillow, but they’re not cheap lol!

  4. So exciting! Try to photograph your bump as much as you can pretty sure in 18 years you’ll be missing it ❀️

    1. That’s a nice thought πŸ™‚ I’ll definitely try to take lots of bump photos as it grows πŸ˜€

      1. ❀️❀️❀️

  5. Thank you Angela for sharing. Believe me, you’ll be happier when the baby “bump” gets bigger so you have a good excuse to wear all those maternity clothes and you’ll look more baby “valid”(smile). Have a nice day.

    1. Thank you for reading. Haha, I’m still wrapping my mind around who much bigger my bump will grow πŸ™‚

  6. So exciting to catch up with your bump update! Xx

  7. That’s so amazing to think the baby can hear you already! I can imagine it must feel weird to talk to the baby but I feel like I can see it so clearly. Like you’re on the couch eating a cookie or something and then asking the baby how they feel about having an under the sea themed nursery or something!

    1. It’s definitely crazy! So much is happening and developing each week πŸ™‚ Haha, I do often just stop while I’m doing something and talk to the baby. It’s definitely fun πŸ˜€

  8. aw, love this update! What an exciting time for you πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks! It’s definitely an incredible time πŸ˜€

  9. Glad you have more energy now! So excited for you and lil avocado baby πŸ€—

    1. Haha, avocado baby, I’m definitely calling it that this week πŸ˜€ Thanks Shannon!

  10. Loved reading your update Angela! Thanks for sharing with us. <3 Glad to hear that you are overall doing well! It definitely sounds like such an adjustment as your body grows and changes to accommodate your baby. How sweet that the little one can hear your voice now! That's a precious thought.

    1. Thanks for reading! It definitely is a big adjustment, and I’m not even halfway through yet haha! πŸ™‚

      1. You’re doing great!! <3

  11. Loved reading this update And loved the picture! You look amazing! <3

    1. Thank you so much Kate πŸ˜€

  12. You look so cute with a bump! I’m so excited to see this journey for you and Rory.
And have you considered (or heard about) a maternity pillow? There are varied sizes and qualities but you can get them relatively cheap I believe, and they are also useful after the baby is born as you can use the during feeds and to prop baby up a bit when they are a bit older?

    1. Thanks Sarah!! I have been looking into maternity pillows actually. It’s getting more difficult to get in a comfortable sleeping position. I have been slowly bringing in random pillows around the house for my legs and back (like I’m building a fort lol), but it’s not helping too much. I may look into more of the full size body pillow ones πŸ™‚

  13. I had random aches and pains as well, it’s so weird isn’t it! Looking forward to reading more updates πŸ™‚

    1. It’s definitely so random! Thank you for reading πŸ™‚
