Bump Update (17 Weeks In)

Hello all. I honestly don’t even know what my blogging schedule is anymore. My brain has just been taken over by work, home, and of course baby. Anyway, time for another pregnancy update.

How I’m Doing

I am feeling pregnant, as I always am. Except now I’m definitely noticing a heavier weight, especially in the utero area. As well as the growing bump. So I’m mostly feeling off balance. Literally. Getting up used to be straightforward for me, but now it requires more concentration and a little more effort. I’m also finding it a bit more annoying in my job, since I’m often sitting on the floor with the babies. Trying to haul myself up to a standing position is not as easy. It’s an adjustment, but I’m slowly getting used to it.

Also, I’m still having trouble sleeping. I bought a little wedge pillow that I mentioned last time, but I’m planning on getting one of those full body ones. Cause I miss sleeping through the night. Although, sleeping through the night may become something of the past as the pregnancy goes on, and then baby arrives..

How Baby is Doing

Little bub is doing good as far as I know. He/she is now the size of a bell pepper (5 1/2 inches or 14 cm) and is apparently moving around and doing heaps. Including yawning, hiccuping, sucking their thumb…twisting, rolling, and maybe even kicking. Speaking of that last one, I should be able to start feeling all this soon. I think I may have felt baby move for the first time a few days ago. It’s hard to tell though, cause I’m not sure what I’m looking for. Everyone describes it differently, the most common one seems to be “butterflies”, and like little flutterings. After I sneezed a bunch one afternoon, I definitely felt something odd like butterflies in the baby region. But since it was just that one time, I’m still not sure if that was baby. I’m definitely more focused now on what’s going on down there in the bump!

That’s all for this update!

  5. The full body pillows are SO worth it!!! I’m sleeping through the night again (except when I get up for the restroom). You look great!😊

  9. Oh man I was thinking β€œbumpdate” lol
But that’s so great that everything is good but yes, everything does require more concentration and effort. The sleeping is what sucks the most. Or at least in my opinion that’s what sucks lol. I used to get really bad cramps on my calves too it sucked.
You should be able to feel kicking soon, it’s an amazing feeling!

    1. Bumpdate! I love that title, I may borrow it for the next one πŸ˜‚
It is funny how much I have to think about how I move now. I imagine it’s going to get harder the bigger I get haha. I do get the occasional leg cramp which is annoying, luckily they’re not too bad.
I love that I’m going to start feeling baby move regularly soon πŸ€—

      1. LOL please do!
It might be, but you’ll get used to it! The only thing I will tell you that will get harder is trying to tie your shoes/put on your shoes lol. So be sure to get some that you can easily slip on πŸ™‚ by the way, it’s almost summer over there right?? Lucky you!! lol

        1. I’m already starting to get that too haha! I wore sneakers the other day and it was harder than usual to tie my laces lol. We are heading into summer though, so I can get some flats πŸ™‚

          1. Yes flats are nice and easy to put on. 😁 wow how exciting for you when is your due date?

          2. March 21! It still sounds so far away πŸ˜‚

          3. So far and yet so near lol.

  10. Yay for everything going well overall!! What a bummer about not sleeping through the night, but you’re right, I suppose that could be a thing of the past–especially once baby arrives. Here’s to hoping you can get more restful nights before then!! Also, I’ve never heard a pregnant woman describe herself as feeling off-balance while her bump grows, but that honestly makes so much sense. Of course you are feeling off-balance as your baby grows within you.
How exciting that you may feel your baby kicking and moving soon! <3

  11. Sorry to hear that you aren’t still sleeping well! Glad to hear that you and the baby are both okay xx

    1. Thanks Amelia 😁
